Symphony #1 by Daniel Bukvich. I played it too.

Although my impression was more like "geez this is depressing" instead of "this is beautifully moving." The recording I have is great, though -- I was one of the louder screamers in the final movement and after we are all supposed to be dead you can hear me scream one last time because I missed the cymbal crash.

I don't think we actually screamed in our version, but it sounds like the same thing. I don't mean beautifully moving as in it's beautiful. I used the wrong term. It is emotionally moving- powerful. It was a glimpse as to what it would sound like to actually be there and I thought it was amazing how the instruments and notes were used to re-create it.
I love all three of the ones Brandy mentioned (That was actually my first "intro" to Josh

)
Oh yeah, that was my doing, wasn't it?

Okay, is it me, or are his songs in Italian more emotionally moving than the ones in English? "Awake" was mostly in English (as opposed to the other two mostly in Italian) and I thought it was a disappointment compared to the others...
When I first heard Awake, I wasn't as impressed with it as Closer. However, I really like it now (I think the concert sold me on it). I also think that you have to take into account the musical differences. Italian music, generally speaking, seems to be more dramatic. This last one was also an experiment with different sounds and ideas. Closer was titled such because it was closer to who he really is and the music that he really likes. I think Awake is another aspect of him and who he is- and a glimpse of how he wants to experiment with and experience music in different ways. I understand what you're saying, but I think it's just a lot different than his previous two. And, him being a true musician, I would be kind of disappointed if they all sounded the same.
"Remember when it Rained", on "Closer", is in English and I find it very moving.
