As a self-professed music nerd, I must spread the awesomeness that is Amadeus.

For those who are not familiar, Amadeus is a (loose) biography of Mozart's life.  It's only vaguely accurate, but still a really great movie.  It's actually based on the legend of the rivalry between Mozart and Salieri, and the legend is pretty interesting.  (Brief summary:  Salieri wants to be a great composer and so appears to strike a bargain with God. He does pretty well until Mozart shows up.  When Mozart shows up, Salieri loses the spotlight, and is extremely bitter about it (especially since Mozart is an obnoxious, uncouth little man).  Then he plots to destroy Mozart.)  The soundtrack is made up of Mozart's music, which makes it extra awesome.  The sets are also incredible -- the scenes in the opera houses are very elaborate!

Also, there are two different versions.  The director's cut and the... not-director's-cut.  The director's cut is about 2 1/2 hours long and WAY darker than the other one.  If you like happiness and rainbows, go for the shorter version.

Amadeus = awesome.

A hallucination is a fact, not an error.

Yes, this movie rocks my socks off.

As a history major it makes me cry, but I got over it and enjoyed it for its awesomeness.

Yeah... well... it's Hollywood.  But still good if you take it at face value.
