yeah right... people would be apoplectic. Especially since I was told that a dancing purple hippo is offensive.
Not sure who said the purple hippo was offensive. I do remember saying that one night I was sitting in front of some visitors who attend a more traditional church and heard the woman say "Oh dear!" when the hippo turned around and shook his butt in a samurai thong. I also went on to say that at the end of video both she and her husband were laughing so I assumed it was OK.
We've used the purple hippo several times. If I thought it was offensive, we would have used it only once.

Sorry if there was a mix up in communications.
As for the Star War lines, we were leaving our bulletins in the church foyer for the Sunday morning crowd to take and either read or pass on. I just felt that "coming in your pants", while funny, would be considered inappropriate by many and negate our ability to communicate the overall LifeQuest message.
Once again, I'm sorry if the total reason was not communicated. I really am.
I always want LifeQuest to be an informal, fun, and sometimes "edgy" place to be, but I also want it to be a safe place for people. Just like the discussion boards, I believe our communications should not be based on just want we want to say, but should always be tempered by and accountable to the likely response of the person receiving our communication.
I know it is a fine line to walk. I probably cross it some times. Hope you guys will love me anyway and understand the intent if not the action.
