What leads one to search?

Is it searching really? Mere curiosity? Sorting out the jumble? Figuring out where the "similarities" really do differ? Determining what's true? What or who is/was logical?

Trying to bring it all together? Considering what's known or understood about our world (your world) and trying to decide where the spiritual fits with it all? Big thinking?

A hallucination is a fact, not an error.

It's curiosity that drives every pursuit of knowledge.

Understanding the cause/effect, influence/actions of people is considerably useful.

I'm not exactly sure what you're getting at with this.
