Have you ever bought a popular album and discovered that the best songs on the album are the ones that never got airplay?

of course!

an popular album may be well known for track 5, but track 10 is really the one that you like the best.

so what are your favourite b tracks? those obscure songs that were overshadowed by the mainstream songs

I could probably think of other ones, but it will take too much thinking at the moment...so, since Amanda brought it up...  Wink

One of my favorite Josh Groban songs is "Oceano." Number 1 on the "Closer" album. It didn't get airplay because, well, it's in Italian and is way too classical for mainstream radio. But it's beautiful.

I'll think of more by other artists and post later.

I almost exclusively listen to music that isn't mainstream. Then again, in my opinion there's been very very little music worth listening to released in the last 10 years. I'm sorry but "generic pop diva singing lyrics pulled out of '100 most frequently used music clich?s'  to a synthesized beat" was barely ok the first 1,000 times it's been done.

And don't get me started on the folks that think that learning a second guitar chord makes them a rock star.

I'm so indie I listen to music that's not even out yet.

I've been leaning more towards indie music lately. It's more widely known indie music, but I'm evolving! I really don't listen to the radio anymore.
