Interesting that Rev. Kuykendall says the New Testament (Romans 13:1-7) teaches Christians that "everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established."
In his leanings that torture should be permitted as that is up to the governing authority. Then justifies that we can exclude this verse in times of higher calling, such as the no trespassing sign to save someone. While at the same time ignores that the governing authority has already signed, agreed, passed into law, that any torture is a violation of the law.

I'm confused  Huh?  Which one do we support? The one the authorities signed, the one they made up, or the one that they ignore?    Grin

Kinda of like skimboarding except that the water is brought to the board and the rider instead of the rider throwing the board on the water.   Shocked

Yeah, I don't know, it's pretty incontrovertible to me. The crazy part is, they didn't ask these religious people whether or not waterboarding is torture they asked them if they supported torture!

From the article: When asked the same question, 40 percent of the "religiously unaffiliated" say torture can be often or sometimes justified. The survey, however, did not define torture or say whether "enhanced interrogation techniques" like waterboarding are torture.

Anxiety, that is so disturbing on so many levels (the quote from the article). I don't understand how anyone can think torture is ok on any level...
