Like your thoughts and comments. For me, verse 19 is my challenging verse. It says, "Understand this, my brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry." Ouch.
The Book of James is a great book for practicing our faith, and realizing the need for spiritual formation. It is not too heavy with grace however. Maybe that's why Martin Luther said if he could he would rip James out of the Bible. But he couldn't and he didn't and later it changed him in some ways.
