So, I was reading news articles the other day
when I came across this tidbit about the Westboro Baptist Church. If you are not familiar with WBC, they are known for being the infamous authors of the website God hates fags.com and God hates america.com (I will not link to them, I don't want to associate with that trash.) They have been known to show up at military funerals to protest, saying that God rejoices in each and every military death, because he hates America, since it (America) takes tolerates homosexuality. A few searches on youtube would surely turn up some of their crap.
In any case, I said to myself, self, while it is good that these horrible people paid for their, quite honestly, evil activities, it does create a very dangerous legal precedent for those who practice their faith. It's not too many steps away from someone being able to sue you for "emotional distress" because you asked if you could pray for them, etc. Food for thought.
