Happy New Year! I hope the new year finds everyone well. New years are often a time of looking back as well as looking forward. For many of us, this means painful memories, and bleak outlooks, while for others it may be a time to smile at the good times or despite the bad ones. Whatever the case may be, remember that each day is a new beginning, and that each day, you have the opportunity to change the way you live your life, and deal with difficult circumstances. Don't get me wrong, I know as well as anyone that life can be hard and sometimes very painful; but as someone once said, there are two types of things in life: those you can do something about, and those that you cannot change. Focus on the things you can do, and don't worry about the ones you have no power to change. You would be surprised at what small changes can do to effect large events. Tthen, rest those last few fears at the feet of Jesus. Trust me, it DOES help. On that note, here's some of the stuff that's going on soon: - First, the one that I'm most excited about, personally: Christian Artists Night! That's right, the CAN is coming on January 19th, and you'd be surprised at the kind of creative expression you'll find there.
 - Second, the first service of the new year, January 5, 2008, we will be discussing three things you can do to make 2008 different. This isn't a New Years' resolution thing--afterall, we all know how those things turn out--it's about practical things that you can do that will guarantee a change for 2008. The next weekend, the theme continues as we revisit the topic.
